Dinner in Boston: Part Two
One of my favorite parts of living in Boston is being surrounded by unique restaurants. I feel like there is always something new popping up around the corner that I want to try out. I personally love all the new healthy “fast food” places that have been a popular trend in the city. I have a lot of vegan & vegetarian friends and family, so that also makes the dinner search more interesting. Here is my second blog all about the yummy food I’ve tried in Boston. There’s certainly something for everyone! If you want to read part one of the dinner in Boston series, you can click the link here.
Enjoy!

A returner from Part 1, this place never fails to make my belly happy! The all vegan menu is so good and packed with flavor, so don’t worry about it not tasting like the “real thing”. I used to always get the air fried sweet potato fries and a burger, but after being swayed by a friend to try to quinoa taco salad, I will never go back. And as always, the beet ketchup is a must.
Boston Burger Company

This is definitely a tourist highlight, but for good reason! I took my friend Jack out for his birthday here and it was a great place to meet with friends. I opted for the “Sophie Burger” as it had prosciutto and fig jam on it (two of my favorite things, what a coincidence). We also got one of the famous milkshakes and it was amazing. Perfect for splitting with friends or to have on a date! It was certainly a filling meal, but oh so worth it.
Life Alive Organic Café

I went here with my mom as the mostly vegan and completely vegetarian menu drew us in. Aside from the picture perfect design of the space, the food was also a must try. I normally don’t get excited by all plant/veggie based meals, but these were just too tasty. I got the green goddess which was packed with flavor in the rice & grains at the bottom, then topped with greens and a perfectly ripe avocado. My mom got the rainbow bowl topped with whipped sweet potato which would be perfect for a chilly fall day. We also tried some of the drinks which were as pretty as they were tasty. I got the oat milk espresso latte & mom got the lavender lemonade. I was so impressed and we can’t wait to go back and try some more.
Dig Inn
277 WASHINGTON ST
This is a long time favorite of mine as it is so easy to pick up and close by my school. It became one of my favorite finals meals to pick up for long days in the studio. The portions are quite large so usually I can have half for lunch and the other half for dinner. The food is always so fresh and with a seasonal menu, it never gets boring. My personal favorites are the sweet potato and the mac and cheese.
Fig’s by todd english
42 CHARLES ST
I only got food to-go from here, but I have heard the dining experience is wonderful. I got a prosciutto and fig pizza and it was heavenly. The thin crust was perfectly charred for that little bit of crunch that is so satisfying mixed with the fig spread. The location on Charles Street is very cute too, making it a great dinner spot.
Ruka Restobar
505 WASHINGTON ST
This has become my mom’s BFF and I’s favorite spot. She lives close by and the restaurant is right across the street from my building so it is the perfect downtown place to grab a bite. The Peruvian fusion food is consistently delicious and the plating creativity is admirable. I love the design of the space and it creates a very relaxing dining atmosphere. My personal favorites on the menu are the pork fried rice and the wagyu steak.

I’ve only had the dessert here, but the food always looks good as I pass by. I shared this chocolate fondue with friends and it made for the perfect sharing dessert. The restaurant is all about chocolate in many different forms, so it’s a bit of an experience and a meal all in one.
Marliave
10 BOSWORTH ST
Zach and I went here one night to celebrate and we were so impressed. The food was rich and comforting and the atmosphere was perfect for a night out. I loved the ravioli and the prosciutto bruschetta. They also had very yummy mock-tails, I think I ordered the elderflower one. Located right in Downtown, don’t miss it!
Red White Japanese Vegan
294 NEWBURY ST
This is another fairly new restaurant dedicated to serving yummy Japanese inspired vegan grain bowls. Like I said before, normally a plate full of only veggies doesn’t make my mouth water but this one certainly did. The curry sauce on top has over 20 veggies inside it and a mixture of 18 spices. Claire and I both left with big smiles and full bellies.
Thanks so much for reading & I hope you found your next place to grab a bite.
