I started ‘Sophie Kay’s’ as a Senior in high school, fulfilling an assignment brief to write a literature blog. It was there that my enjoyment expanded from discussing class assignments to sharing my passions and life through this idea of virtual storytelling. I then took this passion to college with me, and when graduated from the New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University in May of 2020, this platform came along too. I had the privilege of being the commencement speaker for my graduation held at the historic Fenway Park, feel free to watch that clip here. After a Summer of travel and much-needed relaxation in Maine, which I call home, I began my creative journey in the Fall of 2021 as an Interior Designer at Hacin + Associates. I moved into my first apartment, in Boston’s South End, and I absolutely love it here. I’ve given my studio the appropriate name of Petite Atelier, as I view this space as my own personal workshop. My place to find myself, to work on myself, to grow.

This blog has been a constant for me throughout every season of my life. This platform allows me to share my photographs, document my journeys, and jot down the words that put meaning to my everyday.

I am a creative, I am a baker, I am a walk 10 miles a day kind of person. I am a traveler, a coffee drinker, and a monochrome wardrobe wearer. I like pastries on any day that ends in Y, but appreciate dinner as my favorite meal. I am known to study restaurant menus and hover on Airbnb for fun, just in case I have a new trip coming up. I’ve filled almost three books with small poems, and want to publish them, but haven’t found the time or the energy to bypass my insecurity of being misunderstood. I drink oat milk but will take an everything bagel toasted with plain cream cheese. I like being silly, and I take my feelings very seriously. I like to dance and do so every chance I get.
