IMAGINED ARCHITECTURE

“ISOLATION”

Combine humanity + architecture to create imagined spaces.

Taking inspiration from isolationist architecture, I wanted to represent what it feels like to be living alone right now in the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic. Living alone feels like I reside in my own head. I build buildings and spaces and my life exists entirely on my own. I wanted to convey a sense of eerie quiet in these creations, but also a sense of warmth as I treasure the peace of the solitary living. I tested my hand at mixed media with these pieces and ultimately had so much fun and found freedom in combining photo, paint, and graphic work.

These pieces will be featured in the Industrious (Financial District Location) Art Gallery for the duration of April 2021.
