Although I’ve always been a baker at heart, this period of staying at home and distancing myself from others meant that I had more time to practice and experiment with one of my favorite things to do.

Usually constantly occupied as a college student in Boston and working three jobs, I didn’t get much time to bake or cook. In that sense, I am very thankful for this time of staying in and away from others. It has given me much anxiety and confusion and flipped my life upside down, but it has also given me time. Time to slow down and time to think deeply about what makes me feel alive. In my “normal” life, I am constantly creating, designing, and expressing myself. At first, I felt trapped living in my childhood bedroom, with no real routine and an absolute lack of motivation. However, time and boredom worked hand in hand to push me to become creative again in new ways. Baking, and designing these recipe cards allowed me to get that rush of inspiration and creation that I used to get with my daily life in the city.

Listed below are twelve of my favorite sweet treats I’ve been baking in this time of quarantine and recipe cards I designed to go along with them. I hope you enjoy baking ( and eating ) them as much as I do!

…we ate these before I remembered to take photos, but let’s just say they were super yummy!
